|Abstrakt :||Absolute nodal coordinate formulation (ANCF) is an interesting nonlinear finite element formulation that can be used for the modelling|
of various mechanical systems characterized by large displacements and deformation, mainly in the framework of multibody system dynamics.
ANCF is suitable approach for the modelling of fibers and cables as parts of some mechanical systems. This paper deals with
the description of the ANCF numerical implementation based on a planar beam finite element with four degrees of freedom
in each node. Since fibers have different behaviour in tension and in press the implementation of an in-house software tool
considering such fiber properties is discussed. The whole methodology is illustrated using a simple setup consisting of a moving
mass coupled to the frame by a chosen fibre.
